Can Someone Upload to My pCloud
Can Someone Upload to My pCloud

Can a freelancer upload and download files without a pCloud account if you share a folder with them? Freelancers I am sending files to may not have pCloud accounts. Is it possible for them to download and upload to this folder? Or can they create their own account if they require one, or do they need to use my login information?

- Question from Reddit

If you take advantage of pCloud File Request, everyone can upload files to your request folder without a pCloud. However, this file request link is just for uploading files. Others cannot download files in this shared folder. Luckily, there is a workaround that can let others upload and download files without an account – using MultCloud Share. More details can be seen in the following parts.

Do I Need a pCloud Account to Join a Shared Folder?

According to pCloud’s official explanation, when you want to join a shared folder, you need to have a pCloud account. If you do not have an account, you can view and download files from the shared folder, but cannot collaborate with this shared folder.

When you receive a shared link with the upload permission, you also need a pCloud account to upload files to this folder. If you do not want to have a pCloud account but need to upload files to a shared folder, then ask the sender to create a file request link.

A File Request link is used to collect files with non-pCloud users and makes pCloud upload without account possible. You can track the file uploading status like how many files have been uploaded. However, when others receive the link, they cannot view or download the files in this shared folder, and cannot know who upload files to this folder. They can only upload files to the file request folder and enter their name to show who they are.
