I would like to download all the thousands of pictures I have on Google Photos. Holding shift while selecting the last photo does not work; it appears that you can only select a month's worth of photos. Otherwise, the shift key functions similarly to the Control key, with the exception that the Ctrl key does not function that far from the first selected photo either.

Downloading all your photos from Google Photos can be useful for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Protect Data: Cloud services may encounter disruptions, errors, or data loss. In the event that your Google Photos account is compromised, having a local backup guarantees that your images are secure.
  • Offline Access: After downloading, you do not need an Internet connection to see your images at any time.
  • Free Up Space: Photos may be used up against your Google storage limit, and Google Photos offers a limited amount of free storage. You can make room in your account by downloading and deleting your photos from Google Photos.
  • Move to Another Cloud: If you are searching for alternatives, you can download your pictures and then upload them to a new cloud storage service.
  • Organize Locally: By downloading, you may manage and arrange your images in any way you choose without being constrained by Google's system or limitations.
