Have you ever thought about making IDrive e2 Synology integration? If so, you come to the right place. In this post, you will see 2 ways to realize the integration. It offers you steps for using Synology Cloud Sync and MultCloud Cloud Sync. Explore more about them in the following parts below.
IDrive can work with Synology NAS but what can the IDrive Synology integration bring to us? There are some main benefits:
Now you know the answer to “Can Synology sync directly to IDrive” and it is time to see how to make it. You can take advantage of Synology Cloud Sync or MultCloud Cloud Sync. Both 2 ways can realize real-time sync and you can choose the one by comparing the steps shown in the next parts.
Synology Cloud Sync is a tool that can sync data between Synology NAS and other cloud storage providers, including IDrive. If you want to use Synology Cloud Sync to sync Synology and IDrive, you will need to configure IDrive as a custom S3 storage first. Then, you can follow the steps:
Step 1. Go to the IDrive e2 website, select “Access Keys” in the left sidebar, and click the “+ Create Access Key” button. Then, you will be given the Endpoint, Access Key ID, and Secret Access Key which are the login credentials of the S3 server.
Step 2. Open the Synology Package Center and download Synology Cloud Sync from it.
Step 3. Open Synology Cloud Sync and choose S3 storage as the cloud provider.
Step 4. Enter the Endpoint in the “Server address” blank, Access Key ID in “Access Key”, and Secret Access Key in “Secret Key”. Then, select the “Bucket name” and click “Next”.
Step 5. Name the sync task and select the “Local path” as your Synology NAS and the “Remote path” as your IDrive e2 bucket. Then, choose the sync direction like Bidirectional sync, and click “Next”.
Step 6. Check the task settings. If everything is ready, click “Apply” to sync files from IDrive e2 to Synology NAS.
If you think using Synology Cloud Sync is troublesome, you can try another cloud file sync tool – MultCloud Cloud Sync. MultCloud is a cloud management service that can manage cloud storage providers more than NAS and IDrive e2, but also Google Drive, Google Workspace, OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, Wasabi, Dropbox, Dropbox for Business, SharePoint Online, MEGA, iCloud Drive, etc.
Like Synology Cloud Sync, MultCloud Cloud Sync can also real-time sync files between IDrive e2 and Synology NAS and supports two-way sync. However, MultCloud Cloud Sync has more additional advantages:
Let’s see how to use MultCloud Cloud Sync to sync IDrive e2 with Synology NAS.
Step 1. Create an Access Key on the IDrive e2 website which will be used to add IDrive e2 to MultCloud.
Step 2. Go to the MultCloud website and sign up for a free account.
Step 3. Click “Add Cloud” and the IDrive e2 logo to add IDrive e2 to MultCloud. Also, add NAS to MultCloud with the same operations.
Step 4. Select “Cloud Sync” in the left sidebar and choose IDrive e2 and NAS as the source and target. Then, open “Options” to choose the Real Time Sync mode (or other sync modes) if you need it, and tap “Sync Now” to start this task.
Notes:
Can Synology sync directly to IDrive? Of course, yes! You can find 2 ways to perform the sync. Whether you prefer Synology Cloud Sync or MultCloud Cloud Sync, you can follow the steps above to make them integrated.
Except for Cloud Sync, MultCloud offers more functions, such as Cloud Transfer, Cloud Backup, Email Migration, Image Saver, etc. You can also use these functions to solve more cloud-relevant tasks. For example, you can use Cloud Backup to perform IDrive Synology backup and file restore with the versioning feature.
